Monday thru Friday 8 to 5 with early meetings (7am) twice a month and quarterly evening meetings lasting until 7:30 pm
You Will Be Responsible For
Responsible for coordination and preparation of medical staff functions; prepares for assigned committee meetings, takes minutes, processes and distributes appropriate correspondence. Maintains credentials files, coordinate appointment and reappointment processes, obtaining necessary data for each applicant. Performs bookkeeping activities for the medical staff; collects staff dues, makes deposits, maintains and balances the account as appropriate. Participates in CQI activities. Consults other departments as appropriate to collaborate in patient care and performance improvement activities. Maintains performance improvement activities for department. Assists in formulating budget for his/her area. Responsible for attendance at medical staff meetings, preparing annual calendar and committee assignments, agendas and information packets as appropriate. Sends notices or calls members as appropriate. Maintains confidential credential files on all members of the medical staff and allied health staff, including current staff status, current licensure and other certifications and current clinical privileges. Performs secretarial duties for medical staff officers, and committee chairpersons and administrator to assure compliance with the medical staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, Credentialing Policy Manual and Allied Health Manual. Demonstrates knowledge of current medical staff standards as relating to JCAHO, HFAP, CMS and state regulations in addition to changes in guidelines and methodology for medical staff. Remains current in her field. Documentation meets current standards and policies. Coordinates functions with Performance Improvement Coordinator to facilitate medical staff processes. Maintains expertise with MSOW credentialing software. Provides reports from MSOW for other departments, as needed. Participates in the onboarding process and meetings for new employed providers. Make reports, in conjunction with legal counsel, that are required by all regulatory agencies.
What You Will Need
High School graduate or equivalent required
Current CPCS and/or CPMSM certification required. If not certified when hired, they will be required as soon as pre-requisites are met to be eligible to take the exam.
Applicant for the CPCS exam must be currentlyl employed in the medical services profession for at least the past 12 months AND have a total of three years experience in the medical services profession within the past five years OR
Applicant for the CPMSM exam must be currently employed in the medical services profession for at least the past 12 months AND have a total of five years experience in the medical services profession within the past eight months.
Good verbal and written communication stills required.
Strong attention to detail required.
Great custsomer service skills and a strong collaborations/teamwork skills are a must.
Three or more years of previous experience in Medical Staff Office coordination preferred.
