Under the direction of the Director of Pharmacy Services and the 340B Program Coordinator, this position supports Marshall Medical Center's (MMC) 340 B Drug Purchasing Program by providing daily monitoring/auditing, operational assistance and analysis of program needs. Duties include, but are not limited to administering, managing and maintaining the 340 Auto Split Software accumulation and purchasing as well as program regulation and compliance. Ensures the application of legal, ethical and sound business practices through the establishment and adherence to policy and procedure of the organization. The 340B Technician is a California Licensed Pharmacy Technician.
Six months experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital pharmacy, providing unit dose and IV additive service or home care pharmacy strongly preferred.
Knowledge of medications and their use and the ability to read physician orders required
Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations pertaining to pharmacy supply management.
Five years of experience with pharmacy wholesale software and ordering procedures preferred
Two years of experience with 340 B Program preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of 340 B Program regulatory and compliance procedures, program issues, trends and challenges.
Experience with analyzing and reporting data in order to identify issues, trends or exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions preferred.
Strong Computer skills, Word/Excell
Strong communication skills both oral and written
Ability to work under minimal supervision
Basic mechanical aptitude skill, basic math competency and basic High School Chemistry completion and/or experience
Must have good interpersonal communication skills
Current California Pharmacy Technician License required
Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required or obtained within one year of hire
Successful completion of Apexus 340 B University Program modules required or completion within one year of hire
