The Cincinnati, OH VAMC is recruiting for a Nurse Manager, for the Community Living Center (CLC). This Nurse Manager is a registered professional nurse who is accountable for the operation, first-line supervision, administration, and evaluation of the delivery of care, unit functions and programs for assigned areas and shifts for the CLC. Work Schedule: Primarily days, but subject to the needs of the service. The Nurse Manager (NM) is responsible for fiscal and human resource management and development for the CLC. As member of the CLC Interdisciplinary Team, they collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to meet the clinical, spiritual, and psychosocial needs of Veterans at the CLC and achieve Medical Center and CLC goals. The NM is experienced and/or educated in providing and directing the provision of care on a skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, and hospice care unit typical of a nursing home. They work closely with the CLC Chief Nurse, CLC Administrator, and other CLC Nurse Mangers and Leadership to identify and solve potential problems. The Nurse Manager overseas day-to-day operations to assigned areas, shifts, and personnel. They are accountable for staffing to include: staff development performance and quality management employee relations practice and standards of care The NM demonstrates initiative and leadership in designing, implementing, and evaluating continuous quality improvement and LEAN principles designed to promote safe and efficient resident care, staff safety, and satisfaction. The NM participates in studying, identifying, evaluating, and implementing a creating process and system improvements that facilitate the mission of the Medical Center at the program or service level and which can be documented through demonstrated outcomes. They demonstrate a commitment to the principles of Relationship Based Care (RBC) and Cultural Transformation, in addition to an understanding of patient rights and ethics for the Federal employee. As directed, the NM participates in unit, facility, VISN, and National committees and workgroups. The NM is an ECF participant and must meet the performance requirements detailed in that document including performance measures and the HPDM elements of performance in addition to the nursing professional qualification standards. Core elements of performance include knowledge and active participation in unit/program level quality improvement processes and initiatives as well as the customer service program. Minimally, they are expected to operate at a NII level. The NM is responsible for demonstrating and maintaining full competency in the use, pre-cleaning, and/or reprocessing of reusable medical equipment for themselves and staff they supervise. They ensure appropriate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and manufacturer's instructions are followed for any step in the use of RME (pre-cleaning, reprocessing, disinfection, sterilization, or maintenance) performed at the CLC. The Nurse Manager, Community Living Center (NMCLC) is directly accountable to the Chief Nurse, Community Living Center. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
