Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices has an opening for a fulltime, exempt Staff Accountant. This position will be located at our Corporate Headquarters in Lebanon, OH.
SUMMARY This position has responsibility to prepare and analyze financial results for assigned ministries and providing accounting support to the accounting department to ensure the ministries meet internal/external reporting as well as filing deadlines. The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing sound accounting information on a timely basis. The Staff Accountant is responsible for providing management with concise and timely analyses as to significant changes, trends or variances in financial results of Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices ministries.
•Supports Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Choices mission, values, strategic goals and high standards of customer service. Demonstrates the mission through both behavior and job performance on a day to day basis. •Adheres to Corporate Compliance Program, including confidentiality HIPAA protected health information. •Prepares monthly GAAP financial statements while collaborating with ministries to communicate financial results and identification of efficiencies. •Develop, maintain and analyze budgets •Analyze revenue cycle and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately •Collaborates with ministries in training and education accounting and financial information and how to use the financial information to better manage the results. •Maintain audit ready supporting account analysis and work papers in preparation for the annual audit •Assist Controller with various software implementation projects •Assist with report writing in BI360, FRx or Crystal •Prepare monthly journal entries and analysis as assigned •Assist in documentation and monitoring of internal controls •Other projects as assigned
•Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles •Customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and work with a team; critical thinking, organizational skills, and excellent computer skills •Knowledge and competency in accounting and analysis and knowledge of regulatory requirements •Work under minimal supervision; exercising some degree of discretion and independent judgment •Able to work in high stress environment and meet assigned deadlines
•Must have 1-5 years accounting experience; accounting experience in skilled nursing facilities, home health and hospice preferred •Experience with BI360 report writer, FRx and/or Crystal reports •Advanced Microsoft Office skills specifically in Outlook, Excel, and Access •Minimum 4 year degree in Business or Accounting
