Provides clinical professional development and education services to staff. Prepares employees for clinical practice and supports employees in acquiring the knowledge and skills to perform superior patient care. Creates and delivers educational material to all staff members in a variety of formats including one-on-one and group settings.
Creates and develops simulation labs that will professionally develop and educate clinical staff and empower them with the ability to enhance the patient and family experience to the highest level.
Coordinates and conducts ongoing training programs.
Responsible for mentoring/education of clinical nurses ensuring they have complete knowledge of their clinical practice/responsibilities as well as electronic medical records (EMR) and documentation.
Ensures clinical staff are meeting documentation standards by completing full medical chart reviews.
Develops education and training as assigned by the Manager of Education and/or the Coordinator of Education.
Assists in assessing the clinical education needs of staff.
Collaborates with team members in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care delivery.
Conducts comprehensive evaluations of educational activities.
Serves as a reference and resource for clinical questions and procedures to all clinical staff.
Organizes or schedules people/tasks and develops action plans leading to specified goals.
Leads people in a non-threatening manner without having direct authority
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Displays knowledge of CMS regulatory requirements for hospice and LCD criteria.
Possesses knowledge of hospice and palliative patient/family care as established by federal/state regulations and certification.
Demonstrates knowledge of principles of adult learning and group dynamics.
Communicates using strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Works in an organized, detail oriented manner. Able to multi-task.

Participates in continuing education and professional development.
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. CHPN certification preferred.
Minimum Experience: 5 years experience in hospice nursing. 3 years in an education role (ie., mentor/preceptor, clinical education) preferred.
Required License: Current Colorado RN license. Colorado state driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
